Cassellholme's Curtains Find New Home in Zambia.

Some renovations end in a dumpster. This one ended up changing lives on another continent.

When Residents moved from the Apple and Maple Units into Cassellholme's new building, their old privacy curtains and tracks could easily have been tossed aside. Instead, they've been given a second life — installed and already hard at work at Loloma Mission Hospital in Zambia!

We're thrilled to share the news [and the photos!] straight from hospital staff, who report the curtains have arrived safely and are now up and providing much-needed privacy for patients.

None of this would have happened without Dan Cote, Manager of Facility Services at Cassellholme, who spearheaded the donation and worked hand-in-hand with the Loloma team to make it happen. Thanks to his dedication, these curtains didn't just avoid the landfill — they're now helping protect patient dignity and improve health and safety for years to come.

It's proof that even the most ordinary items can travel extraordinary distances when there's a will to make a difference. A simple renovation became a story of generosity, connection, and care that spans the globe.

Well done, Dan — and thank you to everyone at Loloma Mission Hospital for welcoming this gift with open arms!
