Good news! Goggles/visors are no longer required unless you’re seeing a Resident in isolation.

STARTING ON JULY 19, 2021

There are changes to indoor visits for those who are fully vaccinated [14+ days after a second dose]. Remember to bring your proof of vaccination every time you visit. The new guidelines are highlighted; the rest is the same as last week.

GENERAL VISITORS – INDOORS

  • Visiting hours are 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. every day. All visitors must sign in at the front door when they come for a visit.
  • A maximum of two people can visit indoors at a time.
  • Residents in isolation can have one general visitor at a time.
  • You'll be given a mask [no visor required], which must be worn for the whole visit. The mask must remain over your nose and mouth – which means no eating or drinking!
  • When you arrive at the front door, you’ll check in – providing your name, who you are visiting and proof of vaccination. You'll then be asked a series of questions. If you pass the verbal screening, you’ll be given an identification badge to wear.
  • If you’re fully vaccinated, you can proceed directly to your Resident's room [no rapid test required!]
  • If you’re not fully vaccinated, you’ll go to the auditorium where you’ll be given a rapid COVID test and wait 15 minutes for the result.
  • Staff and essential caregivers who are not yet fully vaccinated will be rapid tested a maximum of twice per week. General visitors will be tested if more than 48 hours have elapsed since their last test.
  • If your test result is negative, you’ll proceed directly to your Resident's room. If your result is positive, you’ll be given instructions for a PCR test and you’ll go home to isolate.
  • If you're fully vaccinated [14+ days after a second dose] and have proof, you can take your Resident outside for a walk. If you're not, you can still come into the Home, but must stay in their room.
  • We still need to maintain physical distancing [6 feet or 2 metres].
  • If you don’t follow the rules, you will not be allowed to visit for one week.

OUTINGS

All outings must be booked by the Resident’s POA/SDM.

Outings longer than three hours, or during the time a Resident would receive treatment or medications, must be booked 24 hours in advance by the POA/SDM. Tell us who is taking them out and the departure/return times. Bookings will only be confirmed Monday-Friday 9-4. Be sure to book your weekend outing no later than noon on Friday.

Don’t forget to take a contact tracing sheet before you head out.

The Ministry required a rate of 70% of staff and 85% of Residents completely vaccinated to enter the next Phase. We have met and exceeded that goal!

Phase 2 guidelines for fully vaccinated Residents and essential caregivers, include the following:

  1. You’ll be given a name badge to wear while in the Home.
  2. You’ll be able to join your Resident in the dining room, participate in activities and have access to the dining room between meals for visits and to use the microwaves.
  3. You can take your Resident on outings.
  4. You can even sign your Resident out for two or more days [one or more nights] for non-medical reasons. Upon return, your Resident will be tested and isolated until a negative COVID result is returned. Tests will be done by the Public Health Lab – off site.

CALL 705-474-4250 EXT. 300

This extension is answered Monday to Friday, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. If we don't answer, be sure to leave a message.

As you can imagine, we’re getting a lot of extra calls these days. Please be patient - we’re trying to return voicemail messages within 24 hours [or the next business day].
