The suspected respiratory outbreak on the 3rd Floor [Willow Street] has been confirmed as a COVID-19 outbreak by the Health Unit. Symptoms include productive cough, nasal discharge, hoarse voice, tiredness and diarrhea. Please review the following protocols:

MASKING
Masking is mandatory for anyone working or visiting on the 3rd Floor. Surgical masks are required over your nose and mouth for the duration of your visit – including in the Resident's room.  If you notice someone is wearing their mask improperly, please, give them a friendly reminder. Masks must pinch on top of your nose – not below the nose.

DISTANCE
Willow Residents are to remain on the unit until further notice. This means not leaving the unit to visit another Resident [palliative exceptions only]. If a Resident must leave the unit, ensure they wear a blue medical mask and practice diligent hand hygiene.

VISITING
If possible, consider postponing your visit to these areas due to the potential risk of acquiring an illness. If you do come, appropriate PPE must be worn as per the posted signage, for the duration of your visit. Please restrict your visit to one Resident per day/visit.

We also urge you to continue to be cautious in public settings. Practice good hand hygiene and stay home if you’re not feeling well.

Before coming, preview the self-screening guidelines and reconsider your plans if you have any symptoms. We will keep you updated on any further developments or changes.
