Facility-wide respiratory outbreak – Update
Documents
An isolated outbreak was declared on Maple Street on March 23rd. By March 29th, the outbreak expanded to be facility-wide.
This season has been particularly bad for respiratory illnesses here and in the community. You can help protect our Residents.
IN THE COMMUNITY
- wash your hands thoroughly and often
- avoid crowded gatherings
- wear a mask anywhere you might be exposed to viral infections
- self-monitor for symptoms
- postpone seeing others if you're sick
WITHIN CASSELLHOLME
- If you are feeling unwell, please postpone your visit.
- Surgical masks are required over your nose and mouth for the full duration of your visit – including in the Resident's room.
- If you're an essential caregiver [ECG] or support worker visiting a Resident with a confirmed or suspected infection, surgical masks, gowns and eye protection are required. Follow the posted signage at the isolation set-up or check with staff. If possible, consider postponing your visit to these areas for the duration of the outbreak.
- If you do visit, be very diligent with your hand hygiene practices, masking and distance.
SPEAKING OF HAND WASHING...
- when you arrive and before leaving
- before entering and after leaving a Resident's room
