The promise of spring is finally on our doorstep – bringing change and renewal with it. Today we want to tell you about some staffing changes that will enhance clinical practices and support programs and services. These also allow us to implement additional quality measures and initiatives to continue providing the highest quality care for our Residents.
In the CLINICAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT, various roles will change to maintain and build on clinical excellence, mentor staff and enhance best practices within our Home.
Our Director of Care, Lindsay Dyrda, is leaving us. We’re thankful to Lindsay for her contributions and dedication to our Residents over the years.
Mel Cross, Clinical Educator, has consistently demonstrated a passion for excellence in Resident care. Her staff leadership and commitment to staff development makes her an ideal candidate for advancement. Mel will move to the role of Acting Director of Care.
Bev Von Hassel, RN will be the Manager of Clinical Operations – reporting to the Director of Care. She will oversee programs and services such as staff leadership/support and clinical practices.
Kellie Ross, Clinical RPN Manager, will guide and oversee the Registered Practical Nurses and Team Leads providing education and strengthening leadership to ensure consistency in care.
Kathy MacDonald, RN will be the Manager of Clinical Quality Assurance – reporting directly to the Director of Care. She will conduct audits, implement quality improvement initiatives and ensure adherence to Ministry LTC regulations. Kathy’s role will also involve identifying care-related risks, ensuring timely incident reporting and supporting staff in emergency response situations.
The Clinical Services team will also be joined by Alysia Loyer as the new Resident & Family Navigator. Alysia has more than 15 years of experience in various clinical roles and services. She’ll be invaluable support to Residents and their friends/families as they navigate the LTC admission process.
The RESIDENT SERVICES DEPARTMENT will also see some changes to realign resources to optimize productivity and services.
Camille Bigras, Director of Support Services, will oversee the Behavioural Support Team in addition to her current duties.
Reverend Tracy Davis will now be our new Spiritual Activities & Volunteer Coordinator. She will further expand our robust service deliveries by initiating, fostering and cementing community partnerships.
As Operations Support Coordinator, Derek Callahan will study our programs, systems and processes to ensure they are as efficient and effective as possible. Working collaboratively across departments, Derek will focus on our implementation of best practices and optimization of workflows.
These staffing adjustments will streamline Cassellholme’s workflows, enhance leadership support and improve overall service delivery. As always, our focus is on providing Residents with the highest quality of care. We remain committed to keeping you informed throughout the process.
